The front cover was designed by Storm Thorgerson - an old friend of David Gilmour’s and the band from their early Cambridge days. The photograph was taken at ‘The Wave’, a remarkable rock formation at North Coyote Butes, Paria Canyon/Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness in northern Arizona, USA.

The photographers were Rupert Truman and Peter Curzon.

The back cover ‘Hands’ was conceived by Dan Abbott and Storm Thorgerson.

The photographer was Stuart Nichols.

About Storm:

Storm attended Cambridge High School for Boys along with Roger Waters and Syd Barrett. Storm volunteered his services to do the cover for ‘A Saucerful of Secrets’ and so began his career.
